Star Free Press 05-11-1900 A joint committee of the Grand Army, Woman's Relief Corps and Sons of Veterans held a meeting last Tuesday afternoon to make preliminary arrangements for the proper observance of Memorial Day (May 30). It was decided to vary a little from former years----to hold the parade as usual, and hold all the exercises at the cemetery. It is the intention to make the services brief but impressive, devoting more time to the decorating of the graves. The program will be published later. The school children and all citizens will, it is hoped, participate. |
